About NCPC

Both the Private and Public Sectors were Desirous of Establishing the NCPC

The NCPC is critical as it helps with the following:
Identification and analysis of issues that affect St. Lucia’s competitive position within the global environment.To provide information to the government, the private sector, labour unions and academia, as well as the general public, on the importance, magnitude and implications of national productivity and competitiveness.Identification of issues and public policies that will help drive productivity and economic growth and provide real impact to all stakeholders in the space in which they operate.

 

 

The NCPC is Expected to Undertake Research in the Following:

  • Employment and wages patterns
  • Industry practices
  • Productivity
  • Trade policy
  • Research and development strategies
  • Social strategies and policies
  • Business and government governance

The NCPC Council

The National Competitiveness and Productivity Council comprise representatives  from the public and private sectors, academia, the trade union and employers federation who provide strategic guidance and oversight to the National Competitiveness and Productivity Unit in the achievement of the overall mandate of the NCPC.

NCPU Staff

The mandate of the NCPC is undertaken by five staff members who from the National Competitiveness and Productivity Unit in the Department of Finance. The staff members include: 

  • The Director of NCPC
  • The Secretary to the Director
  • An Economist 
  • A programme Officer
  • A Communications Officer/Specialist
